Cash App is a popular peer-to-peer payment app developed by Square, Inc. It allows users to easily send and receive money from friends and family. The app is available for both iOS and Android.

While many basic functions are free on Cash App, certain transactions come with a fee. The fees depend on whether you are sending or receiving money, the payment method, and whether you have a personal or business account.

To help Cash App users understand these fees, I have created a straightforward fee calculator. This Cash App fee calculator allows you to input a few details and instantly get fee estimates.

How the Cash App Fee Calculator Works

The Cash App fee calculator takes in three inputs:

  • Transaction amount
  • Account type
  • Payment method

Based on these inputs, the calculator estimates the fee for that transaction. Here’s a closer look at each of the inputs:

Transaction Amount

The first input is the dollar amount for the transaction you wish to make. This is the total payment amount, not including any fees.

Account Type

The next input is your Cash App account type. Cash App offers both personal accounts and business accounts. Each account type has different fee structures.

You can choose between a personal account or business account in the calculator.

Payment Method

The final input is the payment method. This includes:

  • Debit card
  • Credit card
  • Bank account
  • Cash App balance

The fee rate depends partially on how the money is sent or received.

Cash App Fee Rates

Below I have outlined the different fee rates charged by Cash App:

Personal Account Fee Rates

For personal Cash App accounts, the fee structure is:

  • Receiving money: 0%
  • Sending money via debit card, bank account, or Cash App balance: 0%
  • Sending money via credit card: 3%
  • Standard direct deposit: 0%
  • Instant deposit: 0.5% – 1.75%

As you can see, receiving money and sending money from a debit card, bank account, or Cash App balance has no fee.

Business Account Fee Rates

Business accounts have higher fees for some transactions:

  • Receiving money: 2.75%
  • Sending money via debit card, bank account, or Cash App balance: 0%
  • Sending money via credit card: 3%
  • Standard direct deposit: 0%

So business accounts are charged 2.75% when receiving payments. Sending money functions the same as with a personal account.

How to Use the Cash App Fee Calculator

Using the Cash App fee calculator is simple. Follow these steps:

  1. Enter the payment amount you wish to send or receive. For example, $100.
  2. Select your account type: personal or business.
  3. Choose the payment method: debit card, credit card, bank account, or Cash App balance.
  4. Click “Calculate”.

The calculator will then estimate the fee for that transaction based on the fee rates outlined above.

For example, if you enter:

  • Payment amount: $100
  • Account type: Personal
  • Payment method: Credit card

The estimated fee would be $3.

You can test out different amounts and payment methods to better understand the fees.
